Alpine Bio is pioneering a new class of sustainable biomanufacturing by engineering plants to serve as efficient protein production systems. Their end-to-end platform, validated with a proof-of-concept plant-expressed casein, requires rigorous tracking of thousands of plants, seeds, extracted materials, and molecular constructs across transformation, greenhouse growth, sampling, and harvest. With 25 team members working across two sites, the challenge was not data volume but the complexity and connectivity required to link every data point back to the correct plant lineage and experiment.
Alpine Bio selected L7|ESP to centralize all plant, sample, lineage, and experiment data and to deliver real-time updates that enable teams to immediately identify which lines to advance or discard. L7|ESP’s workflow orchestration and data contextualization capabilities provide automated sample tracking, consistent data formats, integrated label printing, configurable data collection applets, and full traceability for seeds, plants, samples, and experimental metadata.
With L7|ESP, Alpine Bio increased sample throughput by 50 percent, eliminated sample loss, standardized data entry, and improved connectivity between research teams. The platform gives Alpine Bio a scalable digital foundation that strengthens current R&D and supports future innovation in plant-based biomanufacturing.
